Preventing Mice From Invading Your Home

House Mice & Norway Rats are common this time of year.  Once you’ve got them, they are hard to get rid of, so it’s always best to take preventative measures to make certain they skip your house this season.
The first step to prevent mice invasions is to keep your home clean and clutter free.  Secondly, eliminate places of refuge by sealing holes and cracks outside of your home through which mice are likely to enter.
While not a preference for everyone, another level of prevention measure against mice infestation is to safeguard the perimeter of the structure with rodent bait stations that contain pellet or blox bait.
If you are opposed to mouse pellets or chemical treatments, a natural approach would be to lace the outside of your home with predator urine such as Bob Cat urine.  This approach is used to deceive mice into thinking a predator is near driving them away from your home.
Mice can damage your property, contaminate your food and spread serious, or even fatal diseases.  It’s extremely important to prevent mice using the above mentioned tips.
While prevention helps to decrease the chances of mice infestations, it’s not impossible for these rascals to break through your first line of security.  In the next post, we’ll offer some helpful tips for getting rid of these unwanted visitors.
